The Butcher Grill - Review

I absolutely love food and there is nothing I love more than going out for lunch or dinner. While I have my tried and tested places I love to go - I do like to try new places. In this spirit, I had dinner in The Butcher Grill in Ranelagh, Dublin 6 recently.

The restaurant looks original and unique, both inside and out, and it really does look like an old fashioned butchers. It is a small restaurant with a capacity for 35 people - so you have to book a table at the weekends well in advance. As you may guess from the name - meat is the specialty and in particular beef. I had heard great things about the restaurant so was really excited to visit - which I did eventually on a busy Friday night.

To start I shared the Barbecue Baby Back Ribs with Coleslaw - I am not normally a ribs person but they were gorgeous! For a main I also shared the CoteDeBoeuf which came with smokey beans, sage onion rings and garlic butter. We also shared a portion of fries. The CoteDeBoeuf (pictured) was beautiful - melt in you mouth, so tasty and the perfect size for two. For dessert we had a pecan pie and a selection of sorbets - pink grapefruit, raspberry & strawberry and blackberry. We also had 3 glasses of wine & 2 diet cokes.

There is a great atmosphere to the restaurant and the service is  personal, friendly and laid back. The menu is short and concise and there are a number of specials each day. Be warned though - The tables are very close together so when you are booking try ask for a window table.

It is on the pricey side - so it is not somewhere that you would be visiting every week. But for a special occasion or when you are craving some meat - it is a real treat! I am already looking forward to my next visit.

If it's good enough for Kim Kardashian...

I have been a fan of Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs for a long time so I was delighted to see Kim Kardashian posting about it on her blog - kimkardashian.celebuzz.com/blog! Apparently, it has been a godsend for her since her psoriasis!

I find it so easy to use - just give it a shake, spray it direct onto your skin or use a mitt (I do this as it keeps my hands clean), and spread evenly. The result is an instant even tan which is thicker than most and covers any blemishes or uneven skin tone. There are a few different shades to suit all skin tones and while it is a wash-off tan it is relatively splash/rain proof - a must for our rainy weather!!

Movies I Can't Wait to See (September)

I love movies and as you will probably find out end up watching quite a few a month!

Here are some that I can't wait to see this month...

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

In cinemas in Ireland on 16th September - I will be going to see this at the weekend! An adaptation of John Le Carré's cold war thriller, which I read years ago, it is getting great reviews and some awards buzz for Gary Oldman.

Crazy Stupid Love

Pitched as a smarter, more touching romcom - I think that this movie looks like it will be great. Starring Steve Carell (not my favourite) Julianne Moore and Ryan Gosling it has real potential and has been well received so far! I think this is a date movie that most people would enjoy...but I shall let you know!

Irish release date : 23rd September 2011

Drive

I missed seeing this when it played as the mystery film at the Movies.ie MovieFest in Dublin recently, so I am really excited to see it. Starring Ryan Gosling (busy month for him) and Carey Mulligan - it looks sharp, exciting and violent.

Irish release date : 23rd September 2011

A Brief Introduction

I am a newbie to the blogging world and have set up this blog as an outlet for my thoughts, feelings, likes and dislikes. As a result I imagine that it will be based around my life and interests and will probably include posts about TV, film, food, fashion, cosmetics and marketing…however it may turn out to be something completely different!
As for the name of my blog…it is simply because I was looking at my favourite red coat when thinking of a name.
